Remakes and Mixtapes: The Big Comeback

Jojo Levesque has been gracing the music industry since the young age of 13 is now back with a new album after years of being on hiatus. She was the "Ariana Grande" of the tweens in the early 2000s. Releasing hit after hit of fresh pop/rnb tracks that may not have suited her age, but have definitely paved their way into many teenagers' playlists for love, heartbreak and player hits. Yes, "play-ah". (harhar) Though, somehow age inappropriate, Jojo, has made the songs what they were and never for a short second lacked the passion needed to make them work out for her.

If you've heard of her and has probably been listening to her since the era of bedazzled stuff and side kicks were the must haves, then there's no need for introductions. You would know how amazingly talented JoJo is, and she's back with a new album after what's felt like forever. I half expected her to release one early last year after her "tringle" as she called them. 3 singles, that were undoubtedly great but left her fans wanting and waiting for more. And now that she's all grown up and writing her own songs and knowing when to say fuck it when you're not down with doing something you don't want to, I find that the new and better JoJo who's experiences have been the inspiration for her songs and music itself has revived something inside me. I've been stuck for the past few months and haven't really been that motivated in writing songs or making music that, the moment I heard her new album, and how honest and raw her songs and singing were, something lit up inside.

From FAB (which feels like listening to a modern Alanis Morissette song in a sort of pop-y/rnb way), Mad Love, Fuck Apologies and Music felt extremely relatable. The honesty from what you say out of what life throws at you has been the sort of core of her album, for me.
